The late bill payment charges that are imposed for KSEB bill payment is 0.50% for each delayed payment for each month and surcharge value should not be more than 3.00% of the base rate.
On your bill, you will be able to view your consumer number which will be marked as C#. You can also visit the KSEB website and login to the portal using your mobile number to log in. Once you have logged in you will be able to view your consumer number there.

This means that in case the meter reader is unable to take the meter reading due to the house being locked or power failure, then the average amount of the bills for the last three months will be taken into account to generate the bill amount payable for the current month.

The government of Kerala has introduced a special scheme for helping consumers in clearing their long-term electricity dues from 20 May 2025. This scheme is part of the government’s 4th anniversary celebrations and will offer significant discounts to consumers. Those who had their electricity connections disconnected due to unpaid bills can also restore their service.
Moreover, consumers who have not paid their bills for over ten years will get a waiver of 18% interest. For those with dues between five to ten years, the interest will be lowered to 4%, while for those with dues between two to five years, there will be an interest rate reduction of 6%. The scheme also offers flexible payment options. Consumers who settle both the principal and the reduced interest in a lump sum payment will receive an additional 5% discount.
