Given below are the steps to apply for a Canara Bank ATM debit card online:

Step 1: Visit Canara Bank’s official website and Login using your credentials.

Step 2: Now, click on ‘Apply for a New Debit Card’.

Step 3: Enter your bank account number and PAN number.

Step 4: Type the characters that are displayed on the site and Next, click on ‘Proceed’.

Step 5: You will receive an One Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.

Step 6: Enter the OTP and validate your address.

Step 7: Next, Select the debit card usage.

Step 8: Choose the payment method like VISA, MasterCard, or RuPay.

Step 9: Finally, click on ‘Submit’.

Steps to Apply for a Canara Bank ATM Debit Card at Bank Branch

Canara Bank account holders have to follow the steps below for the offline method of applying for a Canara Bank ATM debit card.

Step 1: Visit the Canara Bank branch where you have your bank account and fill in the application form for a debit card. You can also also download the form online and take a print out of it.

Step 2: Enter all the required details as per your Know Your Customer (KYC) documents. Ensure that there are no discrepancies.

Step 3: Ensure that you attest the application form, the KYC documents that you are submitting and the passport photographs as well.

Step 4: Submit the application form, KYC documents and passport photographs at the bank counter that deals with the issue of new debit cards.

Step 5: Once your application has been approved, the bank will mail you the debit card to your registered address, or you can pick it up from the bank branch itself. For security reasons, the bank will mail your PIN separately.

However, one can generate your ATM PIN at an ATM or via the Canara bank net banking facility and need not wait for the PIN to arrive by post.

  1. Issued by card associates such as VISA, MasterCard and RuPay cards.
  2. Customers can carry out transactions at POS terminals across the country and online as well, as make withdrawals from their account.
  3. As soon as the Canara Bank ATM debit card expires, the bank will issue a new card to the customer.
  4. In most cases, the ATM debit card will be swallowed by the ATM once it has expired.
  5. Cash withdrawals at other bank ATMs are restricted to Rs.10,000 per day.
  6. In times of emergency such as cash crunch and so on, Canara Bank customers can make emergency cash withdrawals from listed merchant establishments - limited to Rs.1,000 per day.
