Interest Calculation

Interest is computed based on the daily closing balance of the account. Here is an example for a balance of Rs.1,00,000 at an interest rate of 2.50% per annum, the daily interest earned is approximately Rs.8.22.

This is calculated using the formula:

Daily balance × Interest rate × Number of days / 365

Over 30 days, the interest accumulated would be about Rs.246.58. This calculation assumes a consistent balance throughout the month and reflects the interest earned on a daily compounding basis.
