Modes of Mobile Banking via State Bank Freedom:

State Bank Freedom offers several modes of mobile banking. You can use the service through an application or WAP (Wireless Application Protocol). This is accessible on Android, iPhone, or Java-enabled phones, and does not require GPRS. Download the State Bank Freedom app or use WAP with or without Java. The service is free, though GPRS and SMS charges apply, with a daily transaction limit of Rs.50,000 and a monthly limit of Rs.2,50,000. Features include cheque book requests, balance enquiries, fund transfers, DTH/mobile top-ups, IMPS, merchant payments, postpaid bill payments, ATM/branch locator, SBI Life Insurance premium payments, and railway ticket booking via IRCTC. 

Additionally, you can use SMS for banking services by sending keywords to 9223440000.  To activate SBI SMS banking, simply register your mobile number with the bank. This service is available for all savings and current account holders and is free of charge, although SMS charges apply. It’s advisable to delete messages for security. The daily transaction limit is Rs.1,000 and the monthly limit is Rs.5,000, with the option to increase these limits using an OTP. 

Finally, SBI mobile banking can be accessed via USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) by dialing *595# on any non-CDMA phone. This mode allows mobile top-ups, fund transfers, and enquiry services. 

SBI Mobile Banking Registration: 

To register for SBI's mobile banking services, follow the steps mentioned below: 

Using a mobile phone: 

  1. Send an SMS the code 'MBSREG' to 9223440000/567676 to get your user ID and default MPIN. 
  1. Along with the credentials, you will also receive a link to download the mobile banking application. You can also download the app directly from the app store. 
  1. After downloading the app, you can log in using the credentials provided. 
  1. Once you are logged in, change the MPIN to any other 6-character code of your choice. 

Using an SBI ATM: 

  1. Visit your nearest SBI ATM 
  1. Select the option 'Mobile Registration' and enter your mobile number 
  1. Confirm the mobile number 
  1. After confirmation, you will receive an activation SMS 
  1. After receiving the SMS you can use SBI's mobile banking services 

At SBI's branch: 

  1. Visit your SBI Home branch and fill up the registration form. 
  1. After providing all the necessary details, your mobile banking services will be activated

SBI fund transfer options: 

There are various modes of fund transfer that SBI account holders can avail. They are: 

  1. NEFT: NEFT or National Electronic Fund Transfer system is available for use by SBI’s users. This mode of electronic fund transfer works on DNS (Deferred Net Settlement) basis at specific times of the day. In this system of fund transfer, the transaction is carried out between banks through payment instructions. There is no set limit for NEFT transactions. 
  1. RTGS: RTGS or Real Time Gross Settlement is a system where funds are transferred at real time based on transfer instructions received. It is referred to as gross settlement as the funds are settled individually as per instruction. It is the fastest mode of interbank money transfer in India.
