For employees across the country, HDFC Bank has rolled out the Basic Salary Savings Bank Deposit Account, enabling account holders to carry out banking procedures that comes with both a savings account and a salary account.
The HDFC Bank Basic Salary Savings Bank Deposit Account is a zero-balance savings account and customers are granted a free RuPay debit card on opening the account.
To be eligible for this basic salary savings account, customers need to meet certain eligibility criteria.
When submitting this basic salary savings account opening form, customers are required to submit the below listed documents to be eligible for the account.

No, you can continue with the same account provided you submit a letter from your new employer stating your name, designation in the company, account number and a statement (in the letter) proving that you are indeed an employee of the company. Once this is submitted, you will receive your monthly payroll in the same account.
Usually, HDFC Bank basic salary savings accounts do not have a minimum balance requirement. As a result, even with a zero balance, these accounts can be started and kept open. Additionally, there are no penalties or fees for failing to maintain the account balance at certain times.
