 For employees across the country, HDFC Bank has rolled out the Basic Salary Savings Bank Deposit Account, enabling account holders to carry out banking procedures that comes with both a savings account and a salary account.

The HDFC Bank Basic Salary Savings Bank Deposit Account is a zero-balance savings account and customers are granted a free RuPay debit card on opening the account.

HDFC Bank Basic Salary Account Features & Benefits

  1. As already mentioned, this basic savings salary account is a zero-balance account, meaning that the account holder is not required to maintain a minimum balance requirement.
  2. On opening the account, the primary account holder is granted a free RuPay debit card.
  3. Customers are also granted a free cheque book when opening the account.
  4. With the RuPay debit card, HDFC Bank customers are granted 5 free withdrawals and bank enquiries in a month at other bank ATMs (other than HDFC Bank).
  5. Customers are granted 4 free cash withdrawals in a month at any HDFC Bank branch. After the first four free cash withdrawals, customers are charged Rs.100 per withdrawal.
  6. Through the HDFC Bank net banking facility, customers can facilitate fund transfers through the NEFT or RTGS facilities, across the country.
  7. Free phone banking and mobile banking facilities.
  8. Through the InstaAlert facility, customers are granted free email alerts as soon as one makes a transaction or a withdrawal.
  9. With the help of the BillPay facility, HDFC Bank customers can pay their utility bills.
  10. Customers can carry out banking procedures at any HDFC Bank branch or ATM across the country.
  11. On opening the account, customers are also granted a free passbook.

Eligibility Criteria for HDFC Basic Salary Account

To be eligible for this basic salary savings account, customers need to meet certain eligibility criteria.

  1. The organisation or company the employee is working for should have a salary account relationship with HDFC Bank.
  2. Also, to be eligible for this account, customers should not have any other bank account with HDFC Bank. This includes zero-balance accounts as well.
