Form 26 for Duplicate RC

However, due to some unfortunate event, you may lose your registration certificate or it may get torn or mutilated over a period of time. In that case, you can apply for the re-issuance of duplicate registration certificate by filling the Form 26 which you can get either online or offline.

How to Fill the Form 26

1. You can either visit your nearest Regional Transport Office (RTO) and get the Form 26. You can also click on the link https://vahan.nic.in/nrservices/forms/form26.pdf from where you can download and print out the Form 26.
2. The first detail you will have to fill in will be the address of the RTO from where you are looking to get your duplicate registration certificate re-issued. For example, if your RTO is in Goa, then after 'To The Registering Authority' write 'RTO Goa' in the space given.
3. In the next step enter your vehicle number.
4. Mention the reasons or circumstances due to which your original registration certificate got mutilated, destroyed, or stolen.
5. Enter the dates wherever applicable.
6. Provide your signature, name, and full address in the applicable spaces given.
7. The no-objection certificate under Section 51(6) is to be filled in by your financier and the RTO officials.
8. Submit the form along with the necessary documents and it will be verified. If all the details are correct, the duplicate registration certificate will be sent to your communication address.
