How Does HDFC FASTag Work?

Here is the detail about how HDFC FASTag operates:

  1. The HDFC FASTag is linked to the prepaid account of the customer
  2. The rectangular card is attached to the vehicle’s windscreen after activation
  3. Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is used to capture the FASTag number by the device reader at toll plazas
  4. The installed readers will deduct the applicable toll charges from linked wallet as the car drives through the dedicated FASTag lanes at the toll plaza

How to Buy HDFC FASTag?

There are two ways in buying a FASTag from HDFC Bank and here are the steps to purchase HDFC FASTag via online and offline mode:

Online:

  1. Visit the official website of HDFC FASTag customer webpage
  2. ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to be selected depending on whether the applicant have an HDFC savings bank account, under the ‘Enter Details’ section
  3. Customer ID to be provided if the applicant has an HDFC savings bank account
  4. Applicant will receive verification code on their registered mobile number sent by the bank
  5. After verification, the application will be auto filled using the existing KYC information
  6. All the details, including KYC documents should be provided if the applicant has chosen ‘No’
  7. Select the vehicle type (commercial/private) and vehicle number for which the applicant wants FASTag, under the 'Vehicle registration' section
  8. Under the 'Upload documents' section, upload the documents, such as:
    1. Driving license
    2. Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)
    3. PAN
    4. Other photo and address proof as applicable
    5. Click on ‘Submit’, after reviewing the application form
    6. The RFID sticker will be sent to the applicant’s registered address after verification of the application form

Offline:

For offline application for HDFC FASTag, applicants can either visit the the bank's authorized agent sales offices or POS locations at the National Highway toll plazas and the list of HDFCsales branches for FASTag purchases and toll plazas are available on the bank website.

Here is the list of documents that you need to carry while visiting the POS or bank branch:

  1. Passport-size photograph of vehicle owner
  2. Duly filled and signed HDFC bank FASTag application form
  3. For address and identity proof, either:
    1. Driving license
    2. Aadhaar card, or
    3. PAN Card
  4. Original as well as the scanned copy of Registration Certificate of the vehicle
  5. Original and scanned copies of other KYC documents

Validity of HDFC FASTag

Here are the required details about the validity of FASTag:

  1. The validity of the tag is for five years
  2. The tag would be auto renewd for next five years on the date of expiry and the same would communicate to the FASTag customer

Documents Required for HDFC FASTag

Here is the list of documents required for applying for FASTag through online and offline mode.

  1. Online application

The list of documents required to apply for HDFC Bank NETC FASTag online via paperless application process:

  1. Vehicle’s Registration Certificate (RC)
  2. Permanent Account Number (PAN) of the driver
  1. Offline application

The relevant documents can be submitted at the nearest HDFC Bank branch and here is the list of documents for offline application:

  1. Individuals:
    1. Permanent Account Number (PAN) of the driver
    2. Vehicle’s Registration Certificate (RC)
  1. Corporates, such as private Limited, Partnership Proprietorship, Public Limited:
    1. Mandatory requirement of PAN card of proprietor
    2. Photo ID of signing authority
    3. Name and addresses of list of directors or partners
    4. Registration Certificate of the form, Partnership Deed, Certificate of Incorporation of Company

How to Recharge Your HDFC FASTag Account?

You can follow either of the below-given ways to recharge your HDFC FASTag account:

  • Through the FASTag portal - To recharge using this option, you can follow the below-given steps:
    • Visit the FASTag portal of HDFC Bank at - https://v.hdfcbank.com/htdocs/common/fastag/index.html
    • Login using your Wallet ID/User ID and password
    • Select the 'Payment' option and click on 'Top-Up' tab
    • Choose the respective wallet ID and fill the recharge amount
    • Choose your preferred payment mode and complete the payment process.
  • Through any UPI application - You can follow the below-mentioned steps to recharge your FASTag account using any UPI application:
    • Open any UPI application
    • Select the 'Pay by UPI ID' option and enter the VPA
    • Enter the pre-defined VPA for HDFC Bank FASTag Recharge

Please note that online recharge will attract applicable charges and you can recharge up to Rs.1 lakh provided you are compliant with the Know-Your-Customer (KYC) norms.

How to Check HDFC FASTag balance?

There are four ways to check HDFC FASTag balance:

Through HDFC FASTag account:

  1. Step 1: Register as a retail customer with HDFC bank.
  2. Step 2: Login on your FASTag account.
  3. Step 3: Check your FASTag balance and get transaction statements.

Through SMS: You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number every time a toll is deducted from your FASTag account. You can check the last SMS received for balance details.

Through email: You will receive an email on your registered email ID every time a toll is deducted from your FASTag account. You can check the last email received for balance details.

Through HDFC customer care: You can call HDFC bank's FASTag customer care number at 1800-120-1243 and request your FASTag balance. You can also give a missed call at 720-805-3999 from your registered mobile number to check your FASTag balance.

How to Track HDFC FASTag

Applicants can track their HDFC FASTag using their application number, mobile number, or Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle. Applicants can also reach out to the Relationship Manager or the HDFC Bank’s customer care team to track the details of HDFC FASTag.

How to Login to FASTag Customer Portal?

The following are the steps to log into the FASTag Customer portal:

  1. To log into the HDFC BANK NETC FASTag account, visit the customer portal
  2. Customer can also log into via OTP received on registered mobile number by providing any one of mobile umber, Vehicle RC, or Wallet ID
  3. After successful verification, customers can log into their FASTag account to recharge, view transaction, and other activities

How to Unblock HDFC FAStag?

FASTag can be blocked due to non-submission of KYC documents. Customers can send the required documents to fastagsupport@1pay.in via registered email id with the subject 'KYC Updation on HDFC Bank FASTag Wallet'.Here is the list of documents required to unblock FASTag:

  1. PAN card as ID proof (mandatory)
  2. Proof of address (both front and back side):
    1. Driving Licence
    2. Passport
    3. Voter ID

Provide the following detail in email:

  1. FASTag Wallet ID or Registered mobile number
  2. Vehicle Registration number

Note: To update records and unblock the account, it will take T+ 5 days.

    No, Paytm FASTag for the vehicle will not get mapped to HDFC Bank FASTag system. By raising closure request with Paytm Payment Bank Team, customer need to close the Paytm issued tag.
