  • Go to the official website of your state’s Public Distribution System (PDS) portal.
  • Enter your Aadhaar card number, ration card number, and your registered mobile number.
  • Click on ‘Continue'.
  • You will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP and click on the ration card Aadhaar link.

Step 1: In the text field, enter "UID SEED State Short Code> Scheme/Program Short Code> Scheme/Program ID> Aadhaar Number>" for example, "UID SEED MH POSC 9876543 123478789012" to link your ration card and Aadhaar card by SMS.

Individuals who wish to link their Aadhaar card with their ration card offline can do so by following the below mentioned steps:

Step 1: Take photocopies of the Aadhaar cards of all family members as well as a photocopy of your ration card.

Step 2: If you have not linked your Aadhaar card with your bank account, take a photocopy of your bank passbook.

Step 3: Also take a passport sized photograph of the head of the family and submit these documents to the ration office or Public Distribution System (PDS)/ration shop.

 Step 4: You may be asked to give a fingerprint ID on their sensors to validate that information against the Aadhaar database.

Step 5: Once the documents have reached the relevant department, you will notified by SMS or email.

Step 6: The authorities will process your documents, and once the ration card is successfully linked to the Aadhaar cards, you will receive a notification.

Deadline for Aadhaar Card & Ration Card Linking Extended by Three Months

The Central Government has extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar with ration cards to 30 September 2024, pushing it back from the original deadline of 30 June 2024 by three months. This extension aims to prevent the misuse of ration cards by linking them with Aadhaar, thereby reducing fraud. Linking Aadhaar with ration cards ensures that food grains are provided to eligible beneficiaries and helps eliminate fake ration cards. To complete the linking process, individuals can visit the nearest ration shop or common service centre with their Aadhaar card, ration card, and necessary documents for biometric verification. Alternatively, the linking can be done through the online portal.

The deadline is 29 February 2024, for integrating HP Aadhaar with the Ration Card

A government representative from the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs announced today the extension of the deadline for linking Aadhaar numbers to ration cards and updating e-KYC and mobile numbers until 29 February 2024. This decision was made to assist consumers who have not yet completed the necessary registration or updates.

The department's primary goal in linking Aadhaar to ration cards was to enhance transparency in the public distribution system. The spokesperson also noted that failure to link Aadhaar by 29 February will result in the temporary suspension of the consumer's ration card.

The card will only be reactivated after completing the required procedures. Additionally, it was emphasized that this extension was implemented to ensure consumers' convenience and to facilitate a smooth and efficient process.

Aadhar card free update should be done before 15 June

From 15 March 2023 to 14 June 2023, Aadhar cardholders can update and submit their identity proof and address proof papers online for free if their Aadhar card was issued more than ten years ago and hasn't been updated subsequently. Aadhar cardholders can update them online by visiting https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. The cardholders must pay Rs. 50 at Common Service Centres (CSCs) to update their Aadhar cards, nevertheless.

Deadline to link Aadhaar card with ration card extended till 30 June

The last date to link the Aadhaar card with the ration card has been extended till 30 June 2022. Previously, the last date to do this was 31 March 2022. Beneficiaries must link their Aadhaar cards and ration cards by 30 June to avail of various benefits from the government.
