Users of both two- and four-wheel drive vehicles can use their Aadhaar to: a) get a new driver's licence; and b) renew their current one. The goal of the UIDAI's new Aadhaar-based verification guidelines is to decrease the use of fake and duplicate driver's licences. Approximately thirty percent of driver's licences in India are fraudulent, according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
A driver's licence is issued by the Road Transport Department in each state and union territory. To link their driver's licence with their Aadhaar, owners of cars and two-wheelers must visit the website of the state transportation department where their licence was issued.
The method by which a driver's licence and Aadhaar are connected may vary depending on the state. To link a driver's licence with an Aadhaar card, however, the basic process is almost the same in all states and union areas. Just follow the guidelines below:
Step 1 - Visit the official website of the State Transport Department or RTO where your driving licence was issued.
Step 2 - Look for the option related to ‘Link Aadhaar’ or ‘Aadhaar Seeding’.
Step 3 - Select the ‘Driving Licence’ option from the drop-down menu (if available).
Step 4 - Enter your Driving Licence Number and click on ‘Get Details’.
Step 5 - Once your licence details appear on the screen, you will be prompted to enter your Aadhaar information.
Step 6 - Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number and the mobile number registered with Aadhaar.
Step 7 - Double-check all the entered details and click on ‘Submit’.
Step 8 - You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number for verification.
Step 9 - Enter the OTP to complete the linking process.
Note: Using the procedures outlined above, one can link an Aadhaar card to a driver's licence on the official website of each state's or union territory's transportation department.
Given below are the steps to link an Aadhaar card with driving license offline

Step 2 - Secondly, get in touch with one of its executives and get an Aadhaar linking form.
Step 3 - Thirdly, ensure that the form is correctly filled out by providing all the necessary information and double-checking it. Both your driver's licence number and Aadhar number must be entered into the form.
Step 4 - After that, turn in the completed form to the designated executive along with copies of your Aadhaar card and driver's licence that have been self-attested.
Step 5 - The RTO will conduct an assessment and verification. You will receive an SMS on your registered phone number after the verification is complete, confirming that your driver's licence is connected to your Aadhaar card.
