Every Indian citizen is given a 12-digit unique identity number, known as their Aadhaar number, by the UIDAI on behalf of the Indian government. Aadhaar serves as a single form of identity and should not be used in place of other documents like a driver's license, passport, PAN, etc. Residents of India are granted it based on their demographic and biometric information.
Receiving your Aadhaar card after applying for one could take up to three months. Even after the allotted period, you might not always receive it. You can obtain your Aadhaar card both online and offline if it has not arrived at your home yet. You must confirm that your Aadhaar has been generated before you can proceed.

If you haven't received your Aadhaar letter, you can obtain your Aadhaar number online or through SMS. Firstly, you need to ensure that your Aadhaar has been approved and generated. To confirm this, check your Aadhaar status on the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website. For this, you need to know your enrolment ID and date/time of enrolment, which can be found on the acknowledgement slip given to you after submission of documents at the Aadhaar enrolment center.
Once your Aadhaar is generated, you can get the UID number and Aadhaar copy in two ways:
An e-Aadhar is the soft copy of your Aadhaar card. It is as valid as the hardcopy and can easily to be download aadhaar card from the UIDAI website. To obtain your e-Aadhaar, follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to the My Aadhaar section of the official UIDAI website
Step 2: Next, select the option to Download Aadhaar
Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP (One-Time Password), which will be issued to the registered mobile phone, to access the UIDAI portal on the next page
Step 4: You will proceed to the next screen after logging in. After selecting the Download Aadhaar button, select the Download option.
You can use the mAadhaar mobile application to carry your Aadhaar on your phone after it has been generated. Name, date of birth, gender, residential address, photo, and biometrics are among the Aadhaar details that the app syncs with the user. You do not need to always carry physical Aadhaar cards when you use the mAadhaar app. Additionally, the app makes it simple to share your QR code and KYC with the service provider.
Step 1 - You need the Aadhaar number or QR code found on the Aadhaar card to download the mAadhaar app. You can obtain your Aadhaar number through SMS if you have not yet received your Aadhaar card

You can also get your Aadhaar through SMS facility. To use the SMS facility, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Visit official website of UIDAI portal
Step 2: Enter the security code that appears on the form, your registered mobile number, and the 28-digit enrollment number that was provided on your acknowledgement sheet
Step 3: Click the "Send One Time Password" button
Step 4: Click "Submit" after entering the OTP you may have received on your registered mobile number
Step 5: Your Aadhaar data will be sent to your mobile device via SMS after verification.
To obtain Aadhaar card offline you must follow the steps given below:
Step 1 - Visit the UIDAI website or call the UIDAI helpdesk to find an Aadhaar enrollment center in your area
Step 2 - Go to the enrollment center and pick up the physical form that was given to you
Step 3 - Complete the form fully and precisely
Step 4 - Deliver the completed form to the enrolment Centre officials with the necessary supporting documentation
Step 5 - Complete a biometric and personal information verification process
Step 6 -Your Aadhaar card will be created and delivered to your home address after your information has been correctly validated.
You can use the government website or helpline numbers to get assistance if you are having trouble obtaining your Aadhaar details.
The Aadhaar letter in itself is not important. What is important is the Aadhaar number, which needs to be linked to your bank account in order to receive benefits from government schemes and programmes. All banks have also been instructed to accept e-Aadhaar copies instead of the copies of the original Aadhaar letter as valid proof of identity and address. So an e-Aadhaar would serve all the purposes of the original Aadhaar, and a mobile version is useful when you need just the Aadhaar number.
If you know your Aadhaar number, you can download the Aadhaar card online from the official website of UIDAI. Alternatively, you can visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre to obtain a printout of your Aadhaar card.
If you still need to receive the updated Aadhaar letter, you can download your Aadhaar from UIDAI's website instead.
You can verify the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar. If the number mentioned in your Aadhaar needs to be corrected, you can update it by visiting a nearby Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.
To check the delivery status, you can visit the India Post website and enter the tracking number provided.
The Aadhaar card is typically delivered within 90 days of Aadhaar enrolment to the applicant's residential address.
If you have updated your address, name, gender, or date of birth in Aadhaar, UIDAI will send the updated Aadhaar card by post.
Instead of receiving a physical copy, you can download the updated e-Aadhaar as soon as the data is corrected in your Aadhaar. It is a quick and instant process, and you can download it multiple times if needed.
