Telangana Declares Holidays for Milad-un-Nabi and Ganesh Chaturthi in September

The Telangana government has announced holidays for both Milad-un-Nabi and Ganesh Chaturthi, which will be celebrated this month. Milad-un-Nabi, observed on Rabi' al-Awwal 12, and Ganesh Chaturthi, on 7 September 2024, has prompted holidays on 7 September 2024 and 16 September 2024, as per the state's official calendar. If the moon is sighted today, the celebration will be on 16 September 2024; otherwise, it will be on 17 September 2024. While Ganesh Chaturthi will be observed on 7 September 2024, the Ganesh Visarjan is scheduled for 17 September 2024. Due to this overlap, the Milad-un-Nabi procession in Hyderabad has been postponed to 19 September 2024.
